Oral Presentations Guidelines Download Guideline

GENERAL INSTRACTIONS

Each Technical Session is consisted with maximum of 8 oral presentations. The time allocated for each oral presentation is 10 minutes. The presenters are requested to stay within the allotted time. Additional questions after the allotted time may be asked during the coffee break.

PRESENTATION

  • Presentation file submission deadline: October 1, 2015. Make sure to send your presentation to Ms. Sherry Shen via email at [email protected] before the deadline. The subject line of your email should be: ACEM2015 Oral presentation (Presentation Session Number: Abstract Code + Name of the Presenter). Example: ACEM2015 Oral presentation (1: #9999 + Sherry Shen)
  • Presentation medium: English
  • All oral presentations MUST be in MS PowerPoint format. The suggested size of each slide is 4:3.
  • Only PowerPoint presentation made in Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2010 or earlier versions can be accepted.
  • Pictures and animation links to the Internet will NOT be accessible.
  • Animations, video clips or sound embedded in the presentation file will not be guaranteed to function properly
  • To avoid time-consuming switching from one laptop to another, presenters will NOT be allowed to use their own laptops.
  • Please bring a back up of your presentation either in CD or in USB drives, just in case unavoidable technical glitches occur.


  • EQUIPMENT AND ROOM SETUP

    The meeting room is set up in class room style seating. Each room is equipped with a standard audiovisual package that will support an electronic presentation. The package includes:

  • 1 Laptop (with Windows 7 and Office 2010),
  • 1 Projector & Screen,
  • Microphones,
  • Podium,
  • Wireless presentation remote and laser pointer,
  • Basic sound system and lighting


  • SPEAKERS READY ROOM

    The Speaker Ready Room is allows presenters the opportunity to view their presentations and to obtain any technical support they might require prior to their scheduled session. Please check-in with the Speaker Ready Room and review your presentation follow the designated schedule listed below:

    BEFORE PRESENTING

    Please arrive at your session meeting room at least 20 minutes before the session begins. Take time to familiarize yourself with the set-up at the lectern. You will be controlling/advancing the slides during your presentation.

    IF YOU CANNOT BE THERE

    If, subsequent to your planning, you find that you are unable to present your paper, it is never too late to let us know. Please try to find a substitute presenter and inform the Conference Secretariat at your earliest convenience. The Conference Secretariat will keep a register of anyone who failed to notify their absence.

    Poster Presentations Guidelines Download Guideline


    INSTRUCTIONS:
    • All poster presentation should be in English.
    • The text, figures, etc should be clear enough to be read from a distance of two meters (six feet).

      Color can be effective if used sparingly. It is recommended to use saturated dark color on white background, or rich, bright colors on dark backgrounds.

    • The usable surface where posters will be mounted is 100 cm wide x 200 cm long. The suggested size of your poster is 90 cm wide x 120 cm long.
    • Posters can be fixed using double-sided tape. We will prepare tapes for mounting.
    • Audiovisual equipment will not be available for poster presentations.
    • Presentation Number will be placed on the upper part of each poster board.
    • Authors� names, affiliations and countries should be included on the poster. The title should be the same as the one in your final abstract.
    • All posters should be brought by the presenter. Please do not send your poster by mail.
    • There will be NO printing facility at the conference venue. It is recommended that you hand-carry your poster to the venue, using tubular packaging of a portfolio case. Costs associated with shipping the poster display will be the responsibility of the presenters.
    • Presenters are strongly advised to remove their posters during the designed tear-down period, or the posters will be removed and disposed.

    REGISTRATION:

    All presenters must be registered for the ACEM 2015 Conference; NO presentation can be made without registration.
